Commbi was started by Sarah and Chris Rhoads, the husband and wife team behind the photography and directing creative studio We Are The Rhoads. After years of shooting for the world's best and biggest brands, they set out to make the feel-good shoes they couldn't find for themselves.
For as long as I can remember, I've reached for easy, slip-on shoes. Heels were too much effort, and sneakers never really felt like me. The trouble was, I could never find a pair that was genuinely comfortable and looked the way I wanted, so for years I just put up with it.
Eventually Chris and I got tired of compromising. We sat down with podiatrists to build a footbed that actually supports your feet, then wrapped it in the easy, open-back styles we love to live in. And we kept asking one more question: why toss a whole shoe when the footbed wears out? Why not let you change the feel, or the look, whenever you like? That question became our patent, and it became Commbi.
